Push and Pull (from the Dumplin' Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

All I'm trying to do is just give you some good advice.
And you give it so freely but hey this is my life.
You don't have to be cruel, you don't have to be so cold
I guess we're both helped on keeping our own control

So i push you in and then i pull you in
We say what we have to say and make up again
We cut to the bone but just as soon as it mends
We're back to push and pull and oh it never end

Mothers, daughters, son's, father's and friends
Siblings, couples and lovers are always in
Some situation, forcing them to go
Straight for the heart and injuring the soul

So i push you in and then i pull you in
We say what we have to say and make up again
We cut to the bone but just as soon as it mends
We're back to push and pull and oh it never end

We might just start off a fight
'Cause we just can't leave it alone,
Telling each other it's just cuz i love you
Are we ever gonna get alone

So i push you in and then i pull you in
We say what we have to say and make up again
But if we tried you and I could make amends
'Cause in push and pull nobody ever wins
It's a push and pull we're really in
