Wrestling an Angel

Wrestling an angel all through the night
From the fall of the darkness to the dawn of the light
Well, you won't go unscathed, and you'll carry the bruise
Wrestling an angel to win is to lose

Precious creator, maker of time
Please don't you let me waste all of mine
I'll carry the weight, Lord, if I'm put to the test
Wrestling an angel, but I'm doing my best

Wrestling an angel all through the night
From the fall of the darkness to the dawn of the light
Well, you won't go unscathed, and you'll carry the bruise
Wrestling an angel to win is to lose

God plays the long game, lets me come back around
Lifting me up after knocking me down
A shoulder to lean on when the heart needs to mend
Wrestling an angel is like fighting a friend

Wrestling an angel all through the night
From the fall of the darkness to the dawn of the light
Well, you won't go unscathed, and you'll carry the bruise
Wrestling an angel to win is to lose
Wrestling an angel to win is to lose
